Marketing and Business Development Executive at CoolPlanet

Tell us a bit about yourself ?

I am originally from Roscommon, now based in Galway City. I am from a big family, which was great growing up. I always loved performing and being on stage. I started stage school when I was very young then moved onto youth theatre, it was excellent for my confidence! I studied Performing Arts in ATU. It was a real learning experience and I met some incredible people. I have always loved meeting new people and listening to other people's stories. In 2021, I made the decision to go back to education and complete a MA. I studied Global Media and Communications at the University of Galway. I confidently say this course opened so many doors and was a great experience.

Where did you work prior to joining CoolPlanet?

Prior to CoolPlanet, I worked as a communications assistant with the Ryan Institute, whilst also working 12 hour shifts on the weekends in Boston Scientific to support my studies.

What does your job entail?

As a Marketing and Business Development Representative (BDR) at CoolPlanet my role includes advancing the company's sustainability mission. I am responsible for identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, conducting market research to identify potential clients, and help forge new relationships. I love the freedom and flexibility that comes with my role. I feel like I have a purpose and am working towards a mission to make the world a better place for the next generations. I feel very lucky to be a part of the team I'm in. We all support each other in every aspect, and still have the craic along the way.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Being a 90s kid my dream was to be a pop star and actress.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spending quality time with my family and friends, playing guitar and some exercise whether that be the gym or walking the prom out in Salthill. I recently took up meditation which has really given me a new perspective on life.

What keeps you motivated ?

My family and friends keep me motivated. I see all their accomplishments and what they have achieved and it pushes me forward to succeed and make them proud of me. I would say I’m a dreamer and have always been an ambitious person.

  1. I sometimes shout in my sleep.
  2. I got to the last round of auditions for the TV series Normal People.
  3. I went to speech therapy for 12 years
