Abhinav Agastya

Customer Success Manager at CoolPlanet

Tell us a bit about yourself?

In 2022, I relocated to Dublin and started an MBA at UCD Smurfit School of Business. I really enjoy problem-solving and helping people and teams achieve their goals.

Where did you work prior to joining CoolPlanet?

My previous role was with Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line), a Japanese maritime/logistics firm with a 138-year legacy. Serving as a Marine Operations Engineer Manager, I worked on cargo ships and oil tankers, navigating 32 countries and immersing myself in a plethora of cultures!

What does your job entail?

In my role as a Customer Success Manager, I use my data analytics, consulting, and customer support skills to guide our clients. My commitment is to help them through their journey using CoolPlanetOS, ensuring their decarbonisation objectives are met, and that they are continually improving their processes.

What do you enjoy most about working for CoolPlanet?

The harmonious culture at CoolPlanet, where everybody is very much behind our mission of helping businesses reduce their carbon emissions, it truly resonates with me. This collective drive toward a common purpose, is profoundly significant, for us and our customers.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to become an explorer, and this is what I ended up doing when I worked on the ships, It was amazing I travelled across vast oceans, dealing with all sorts of different challenges. It really suited my love for problem-solving, not to mention my curiosity and zest for learning.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my free time, I enjoy sea swimming at the Forty Foot, Dun Laoghaire, playing melodies on my violin, and keeping fit at my gym!

What keeps you motivated?

The looming threat of climate change, witnessed through the deteriorating air quality of my childhood city, New Delhi. Every small effort matters, and combined, they will result in a lasting impact on our planet.

What are three interesting things about you?

  1. I’ve graced the screens as a movie extra in Fair City, a cherished Irish soap opera :)
  2. I’m certified in life-saving skills, including firefighting and first aid.
  3. I speak three languages, Hindi, English and Telugu, which is the language native to my home in Andhra Pradesh

What is your life mantra?

In every undertaking, prepare as if you've never tasted victory, and perform as if defeat has never touched your spirit.
